This class will be focused the intersection of the environment and data science; highlighting the use of open source software, online data repositories, linked data, data processing tools and programs to create complex analytic workflows – applied over space and time. Students will use and/or develop novel algorithms for learning patterns and predicting outcomes and will explore the underlying methods/approaches in order to develop a generic environmental-analytic skill set that will prepare students for a wide variety of potential career paths. Prerequisites: Entry in MES or MA.
